Hey folks.
I have an idea for classes at home. Can you help me figure out how to make it great by answering a few questions? I really love teaching and I want to keep doing it. You’re input will go a long way.
Here’s what I have in mind until we can safely meet together in the shop. This is long… sorry.
I’d like to create a few projects (two or three to start) that could be done with minimal tools.
I would pre-cut parts, flat pack and ship or you pick up.
Students buy their own tools.
All sessions prioritize using the same tools or building on a set.
Assembly is done together in an online class. If you miss the class, it will be recorded. Play it whenever you want.
For clarity, I am not talking about a few screws, like assembling Ikea furniture. These would be unfinished furniture grade plywood or wood parts with mortise and tenon joinery or splines. Possibly including curved parts that you shape. I think there’s still room to learn a lot.
There are some obvious hurdles on my end including shipping and keeping the price reasonable.
Here are my questions. All feedback is deeply appreciated! Please be honest and feel encouraged to comment.

With good design, even a 2" x 10” can be fashioned into a stool worth making!
In this beginner friendly 3 hour hands-on workshop everyone will get their own plank to cut, rotate, cut, spin and cut again! In no time, you’ll turn that plank into a stool.
We will use the table saw, band saw, jig saws, drills and sanders to fabricate our parts and screw them together. You’ll learn how to create shapes in multiples to streamline your building process and how to operate all the machines safely.
Explore furniture design and empower yourself with tool knowledge.
Everyone will leave with their own stool to show off. Sign up early as slots are limited and this event will most likely sell out.
